Welcome

Alex Cunningham, Labour Party's Prospective Parliamentary candidate for Stockton North

I am absolutely delighted to have been chosen to be the Labour Party's Prospective Parliamentary candidate for Stockton North and look forward to retaining the seat for Labour at the next general election.

I have lived in Stockton for more than 30 years and served as a Cleveland County and Stockton Borough Councillor for nearly 20. I currently represent Billingham East on the Borough Council and am the Cabinet Member for Children and Young People.

I very much look forward to working with the community in Stockton, Norton, Billingham and the outlying villages and hopefully serving them into the future.

The country is currently facing challenging times but the commitment from the Labour Government to do everything possible to support hard working families and the most vulnerable in our society will see us through. That commitment to protect us all from the financial problems brought on by the Banks across the world should ensure the country emerges from this difficult period in the strongest possible way.

Whilst Labour pledges to maximise investment to build hospitals, schools, health centres and other projects to keep people in jobs, the Tories have pledged to slash spending on health, education and public services returning us to the days with millions unemployed, hospital waiting lists in excess of a year or more and an education system which had failed our children and young people.

If you would like to join the fight to ensure we protect jobs, health, education and other services please contact me. You can also join The Labour Party by clicking the link at the side.

If you would like to contact me, you can telephone me on Stockton (01642) 551251 or 07785 290231 or via the contact form.
