Tories On the NHS

Issue

  • As the Tories have come under pressure on their spending plans, they have remained committed to tax cuts for the wealthy few - but secretly dropped their flagship pledge of 45,000 more single rooms in the NHS.

Key points

  • David Cameron cannot be trusted on the NHS, because he wants to scrap your right to see a cancer specialist within 2 weeks; he would make it easier for GPs to cut their opening hours, by scrapping our agreement with doctors. And he wants to encourage hospitals to borrow against their assets, even at the risk of hospitals going bust.
